How I got started.

I had the for about two months and kept making excuses of when I was going to start. Well, I said enough is enough I need to get down to business. So I typed in “how to get started with ”, I ended up finding Han. Han’s story inspired me. So I decided that I would email him telling him my story and asking for some advice.

He emailed me back giving me some advice and telling me about teambeachbody.com

So, I joined and realized that he is my coach.  He has been very supportive and really seems to want to help me reach my goal. So right now [for the first week] he is introducing me to the P90X workouts.

Jan 18, 2010-Day 1

I took my measurements for what I wanted to see improve, weight and my before photo. I told myself that I will only do measurements and weight on days 30, 60, and 90. That way I don’t get discouraged and I’m not obsessing over it.

After  did that, I popped in the first for me, Kenpo X!

Wow!! That workout was amazing!! It was kinda like “fighting” I guess would be a good word to describe it. There was alot of punching, kicking, and combo moves!! It took me a couple times to go back to the beginning of certain sections to get me caught up, but I was more concerned about getting the correct form then doing it fast and sloppy.

I was soaked in ! Little do I know, this is only the beginning. icon smile My first P90X workout!!

Trans Fatty Acids: The poison in our food supply that most people are STILL eating every day

Most people are eating a poison every day without giving it a second thought.  This substance can increase belly fat and consuming even small amounts (2% of total energy intake) is consistently linked to coronary heart disease. The research also says that this stuff can increase visceral fat, contribute to insulin resistance, increase risk of type 2 diabetes, increase bad cholesterol, decrease good cholesterol, trigger systemic inflammation and adversely affect almost every cell in your body.

What substance could be so harmful that it causes all of these problems and yet is so prevalent in our supply that most people are eating dangerous amounts every single day? This industrially manufactured ingredient is called Trans fatty acids (TFA’s).

TFA’s are not found in nature, with the exception of some ruminant-derived TFA’s in certain dairy products (usually contributing less than 0.5% of total caloric intake). TFA’s come mostly from the industrial hydrogenation of vegetable oils, which alters the natural cis configuration of the oils to the trans configuration. If you see “partially hydrogenated” oil in the ingredients list of any food product, then it contains TFA’s.

TFA’s have been studied for decades, but were largely ignored until the past several years. Research papers linking trans fats to heart disease date back to the 1970’s. In 1994, the Center for Science in the Public Interest petitioned the Food and Drug Administration to put trans fats on food labels (didn’t happen until 2006). Since 2006, TFA’s have thankfully received a decent amount of publicity when they were in the news regarding new food labeling laws and the banning of their use in restaurants in some states.

The most search and asked question, About P90X Workout Program is simply Does works? or for a skinny (fat) guy?

I Promise by end of this blog, You will have a crystal answer…

….For Now…I’d like to share my Amazing Transforming P90X Workout Story:

When I was 13 years old, faith had brought me from P.R. China to Land of Opportunities America…..At a time when I didn’t speak a word of ENGLISH….also couldn’t read…couldn’t write in English…Just imagining, what does that do to a 13 year old boy….

Life does not come easy at all, with the little income that my father made, my family struggled financially… I mean really struggled.  I was on the “FREE lunch program” from middle school all the way to high school…. 90% of my clothes, shoes, and toys were bought from yard sales, flea markets, good will, Big Lots, and..well, you get the idea.

While P.E. class was fun for most kids, for me it was pain in butt.  I was always the last one in everything.  Play Basketball?  I will be the bench warmer….no one would pick me .  Running Track?…..I would be the last one made to the finish line…. Playing sports was totally out of question, not to mention that I was a skinny boy.  At 5′0” in height and weighing in at less than 90 lbs…do you think that affected my self-esteem?  You bet!

38 watermark 280x200 me Does P90X Workout Work? Nothing But The Truth! I had no Biceps,  no arms, I was so weak.  A girl could probably have easily whipped me.  To make things worse, my parents decide to become vegans and cut out any meat from my diet.  Lunch time was pizza and fries.  At home was Fried Chinese cooking…it’s surprising I wasn’t fat!

.

I barely made to college because of our lack of finances.  I started my own computer business to make some spending money for myself and become more independent.  It was in college that I began lifting weights, having been introduced to weight lifting by some friends I played basketball with.
